The origins of Codendi

Logo Codendi Development of Codendi (formerly CodeX) began in 2000 at Xerox Research Centre Europe with the aim of bringing to the enterprise the ideas behind the success of open source projects: centralised implementation of tools and best practices, as well as collaboration between project teams. Initially, Codendi was based on the source code of SourceForge.net (version 2.0 of November 2000).

From that time, the Xerox Research Centre has carried on the development of the platform to improve it with new features and to adapt to new standards.

On the strength of the success noticed within Xerox Corporation, Codendi is now available to various industry sectors (electronics, telecommunication...). Today, the Codendi community gathers 12 000 users worldwide and hosts more than 2 000 projects.

Code-Opus, the first official reseller of Codendi accredited by Xerox.

Code-Opus Xerox signed a partnership with Code-Opus, open-source services company with which Xerox already works on Codendi for the development. Code-Opus is thus the first official reseller of Codendi accredited by Xerox. In addition of the customer portfolio management, they also focus on stimulating and animating the Codendi community.
